CasparCG is play-out software often used in broadcast for graphics and overlays and even better it is free! I am making several tutorials on how it works and how you can use it in your broadcast (all CasparCG tutorials are in this PLAYLIST), but first, we need to prepare some assets for it to be usable in CasparCG. The first tutorial is how to make a simple lower third from a video file (that includes alpha) and convert it into a CasparCG flash template with the Template Generator plugin in Animate CC (2019 is tested).
Most of it is explained in the video, but make sure that you download the Template Generator and have Animate CC installed on OSX High Sierra or Windows 10. Those are the two platforms I personally have tested. At the beginning After Effects is used to convert the video into a PNG sequence, but there are also other alternatives that can be used.
You can use the template generator on OSX and Windows. The following videos are how you can install the Template Generator for the two different OS.
